Recent Media Coverage of Darrel Newman InvestigationsDarrel Newman was presented the highest civilian award given to an individual by the Oklahoma City Police Department. He received this honor after he stopped an armed robbery of an OKC restaurant. The robber had committed a chain of robberies along interstate 35 over a period of 3 weeks. Subsequently the robber was found guilty and sentenced to 20 years. |
